Amazon Q Developer on Tuesday announced expanded multi-language support for the integrated development environment (IDE) and the Q Developer CLI.

HÀ NỘI — The Amazon Q Developer on Tuesday announced expanded multi-language support, including Vietnamese, for the integrated development environment (IDE) and the Q Developer CLI.
Among the many supported languages are Mandarin, Japanese, Spanish, South Korean, Hindi, Portuguese and Vietnamese, with more languages available.
This enhancement strengthens its capabilities as a powerful platform used by developers worldwide to discuss architecture, generate documentation, design user interfaces, and build applications.
While English remains the primary language of programming, modern software development increasingly demands tools that support collaboration across global teams.
Developers worldwide use Amazon Q Developer to discuss architecture decisions, create documentation, design user interfaces, and build applications that serve global audiences. By expanding language support, Amazon Q Developer now enables developers to have more natural, fluid conversations about complex technical concepts in their preferred language, whether they’re designing system architecture, generating documentation or planning application localisation strategies.
Developers can now receive complete responses in languages such as Chinese, Hindi, Spanish and Vietnamese, ensuring technical accuracy, while adapting to linguistic nuances.
In addition, Q Developer now suggests follow-up questions and responses in the user’s chosen language, creating a more intuitive and seamless experience for developers worldwide. The natural flow of conversation in any language helps maintain the developer’s focus and flow, eliminating the mental overhead of constant translation.
Expanded language is available in the integrated development environment (IDE) and command line interface (CLI) with support coming to the AWS Management Console soon. Within the IDE, features such as chat, inline chat, inline suggestions, agents, etc. now support additional spoken languages.
For example, users can use the inline chat in Vietnamese to request Q Developer add TSDocs comments to their code, and Q Developer will respond by adding the comments in Vietnamese, documenting the method.
The company says Amazon Q Developer is now equipped to support developers worldwide, whether in Seoul creating documentation in South Korean, a start-up in Madrid designing architecture in Spanish, or a team in Việt Nam collaborating in Vietnamese. Expanded language support is available to users of both the Free and Pro Tier. — BIZHUB
