Alibaba.com, a leading platform for global business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce is participating in VIFA ASEAN 2023 from August 29 to September 1 to meet and interact with Vietnamese furniture industry players about online export opportunities, as part of its ongoing efforts to help businesses thrive in the digital era. During the three-day event, event-goers can interact one-on-one with Alibaba.com representatives on-site to learn about B2B e-commerce and how it is relevant to their own businesses.
The Alibaba.com-hosted seminar presented to participants the latest market trends and global trading opportunities relevant to the furniture and home accessories industry, while providing tips and advice on optimising suppliers’ export strategy with Alibaba.com’s latest features.
"We are committed to supporting the growth and success of Vietnamese SMEs by facilitating connections, offering education and fostering online trading opportunities,” said Roger Luo, Head of Southeast Asia, Alibaba.com.
Alibaba.com representatives at the event shared various platform insights with the goal of helping Vietnamese SMEs better understand and capture the prevailing market opportunities. Sourcing activities on the platform reveal that home and garden products are among the top three popular categories of Vietnamese products listed on Alibaba.com. In the past three months, Vietnamese products in this category saw a 64 per cent year-on-year growth in active buyers.
Alibaba.com also witnessed a surge in the popularity of multi-functional products among global buyers. Under the impact of the changing global market environment, there is a growing preference among B2B buyers for durable goods that offer functionality, convenience, intelligence, and cost-effectiveness. This trend has opened up significant new market opportunities for suppliers. Examples of such products include modular furniture, smart furniture, and composite furniture. — VNS
