ABB E-mobility was selected to deliver its market-leading electric vehicle chargers in Viet Nam to launch the new all-electric Audi e-Tron GT Quattro, Audi’s first electric car to hit the Vietnamese market.
To deliver a premium charging experience for Audi, ABB had a range of charging solutions for Audi Tan Binh, the most extensive service centre of Audi in the country, which serves customers in the south. ABB charging solutions include AC wall box chargers ranging from 7kW to 22kW and DC chargers ranging from 24kW to 180kW.
Located outdoors for easy access, the Terra 184 DC fast charger is a modular DC fast charging system with high output current capabilities.
The CCS2 charge post offers a wide range of output voltage from 150-920VDC and can deliver up to 375A and 180kW continuously, making it a highly flexible solution. The Terra 184 DC charger can add 100 miles of range in as little as 10 minutes and fast-charge two vehicles at the same time in less than 20 minutes.
The Terra DC wall box 24kW, AC wall box 11kW and AC wall box 22kW chargers are also installed at Audi Tân Bình’s workshop, handover and showroom areas to provide high-quality and effective charging points.
“Clean mobility solutions will play an essential role in improving the urban environment. We are delighted to join forces with Audi to drive electric car adoption in Viet Nam by offering safe, smart and sustainable charging infrastructure, helping the country become a low-carbon society,” said Noel Hupont, Vice President, ABB Vietnam.
Laurent Genet, General Director Audi Vietnam importer, said: “Audi Vietnam selected ABB to bring premium fast charging DC and AC solutions to Viet Nam. Audi is committed to a fully electric product range by 2026, and our award-winning e-Tron GT, which just launched on the opening of Audi Tan Binh, marks the start of Audi going electric together with ABB in Viet Nam.”
“Audi Vietnam is now building reliable charging in key locations. The next will be in our renovated Audi Ho Chi Minh City right in the centre of District 1.“
ABB entered the e-mobility market in 2010 and today has sold more than 680,000 electric vehicle chargers across more than 85 markets, over 30,000 DC fast chargers, and 650,000 AC chargers, including those sold through Chargedot.
Like many similar Asian countries, Viet Nam is experiencing rapid urbanisation. The rate of car ownership is forecasted to grow 35-fold from 2010 to 2050. To help mitigate the environmental impact of this increase, the sector must evolve by embracing e-mobility solutions. — VNS
