HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Internet capacity on the Asia-America Gateway (AGG) undersea cable between Viet Nam and other countries has been working normally since 6 am on March 14.
The repair and maintenance of the cable started on March 2 and was to end by March 9, but the maintenance work was extended by six more days. During this period, the local internet service providers, such as Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), FPT and Viettel, shifted to other cables to ensure the quality of service for customers.
The 20,000-kilometre submarine cable, which came into operation in November 2009, connects the Southeast Asian region with the United States. Last December, it was found cut 278 kilometres off the Vung Tau coast and it took more than a week to repair the cable. — VNS
