15,000 Mazda car models sold in Viet Nam


Vina Mazda has sold 15,000 cars in the first 10 months this year in Viet Nam, a 111 per cent increase in comparison to the same period of last year.

QUANG NAM (Biz Hub) — Vina Mazda has sold 15,000 cars in the first 10 months this year in Viet Nam, a 111 per cent increase in comparison to the same period of last year.

This makes Mazda the most developed Japanese car brand in the country's market.

The Quang Nam-based plant said 1,800 of the 13 car models were sold in October alone.

According to the Truong Hai Auto Company (Thaco), Mazda3 was the best sale model in Viet Nam market with an accumulated 4,500 cars in 10 months this year, registering a 157 per cent growth compared to the same time last year.

The CUV (Crossover Utility Vehicle) CX-5 was behind with 3,500 units, and Mazda2 with 1,100 units just three months after its launch in the Viet Nam market.

In reaching the sale target of 20,000 Mazda cars this year, Thaco has offered a promotion prices from VND18 million ($857) to VND90 million ($4,285) for 13 models in November.

Mazda CX-5 2-litre with two-wheel driving has seen the largest promotion with $4,285 including gifts, insurance and spare parts.

Thaco also offered the latest selling price for the 13 models from VND609 million ($29,000) to VND1.8 billion ($85,700).

Thaco, the largest automobile maker in Viet Nam has produced and already distributed vehicles for three manufacturers including Kia from South Korea, Mazda from Japan and French giant Peugeot.

The local car maker expects to sell over 78,000 commercial cars, trucks, and bus with revenues of $2 billion in 2015. — VNS
