Viet Nam Motor Show opens with 150 models

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — The country's largest auto exhibition, Viet Nam Motorshow 2015, opened today in HCM City with 18 top automotive brands and a record 150 models.

"For the last decade, Viet Nam Motorshow has brought value to customers," Yoshihisa Maruta, general director of Toyota Viet Nam and chairman of the Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA), delivered his opening speech.

"Visitors will have a chance to experience advanced technology such as automatic functions that support the deceleration, and environmental friendly technologies," he added.

At the event, Lexus revealed all-new models, focusing on SUVs with sophisticated design and superior technology.

Mercedes Benz had 12 cars, 10 of which were new to the market.

Toyota Viet Nam launched its products representing the Breakthrough Generation. The concept car FCV with a battery is a new focus for the company.

After many years of absence, THACO returned to the event with the presence of three brands Kia, Mazda and Peugeot.

Mazda introduces new SkyActiv technology and Kodo design. These are clearly shown in models of CX-5, new Mazda 2, Mazda 6, new Mazda 3 and Mazda BT50.

Mazda since coming to Viet Nam has one of the best sellers. In the first nine months of this year, the company sold over 13,000 units, increasing by 117 per cent year-on-year.

Peugeot will come with five cars of Peugeot 308 GT Line, Peugeot 2008, Peugeot 208 F/L, Peugeot 508 and Peugeot 3008.

Mitsubishi Motors, Ford and Chevrolet showed high-quality products integrating environmentally friendly technologies, while Nissan, Infiniti and Honda revealed models with elegance and advanced technologies.

Suzuki and Hyundai showcased the strengths of their local operations and models tailored to Vietnamese needs.

Mercedes-Benz.

In the heavy utility vehicles market, Hyundai, Hino and FUSO Viet Nam will bring products that integrate brand-new technologies that increase engine life, stabilise operations, save fuel and protect the environment.

Coming to the show this year, Ford Viet Nam introduces new Ford Focus and new Ford Ranger along with other autos of Fiesta, Ecosport and Ranger which are considered as the leader in fuel saving and smart technology.

Ford Everest is expected to bring to the market in first quarter of next year. The prize has not been released

Ford Focus meanwhile will hit the market this December at the prize of from VND800 million.

With the theme "technology for your convenience", the Japan auto introduces its SUV car with new Murano Platinum AWD 2015, the company's flagship premium mid-size SUV that is specially brought from North America and has received many global prizes.

In addition, the company introduces pick-up NP300 Navara; crossover Juke and Teana new, which all equipped with advanced touch screen AVN navigation system with internet connectivity.

In addition, online photo contest "Take a Selfie with Viet Nam Motor Show 2015" will be launched on VMS's fanpage. Two free Thailand tours will be given to visitors taking part in a survey conducted at the exhibition.

The event is being held at the Sai Gon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC) in District 7 from October 28 to November 1, with a display area of 19,000sq.m of 100 booths of banks, insurers and companies from the support industry.

The show hopes to attract more than 170,000 visitors.
