HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) sold a record 51,246 vehicles in 2015, up 24.4 per cent compared with 2014.
This raises the accumulated sales figure of TMV in its 20 years of operations in Viet Nam to 357,025 units.
Among the units sold in 2015, passenger cars and commercial vehicle segments comprised 27,163 units and 23,122 units, growing 28 per cent and 19 per cent, respectively.
Vios, the best-selling car of TMV with 13,761 units sold in 2015, double the number in 2014, topped the passenger car segment. It's followed by Corolla -- launched in September 2014 -- with 5,926 units sold and Camry with 4,679 units.
In the commercial vehicle segment, Innova and Fortuner contributed significantly to the overall turnover of TMV in 2015, with 9,985 units and 9,780 units being sold, up 28 per cent and 14 per cent, respectively, compared with 2014.
The total sales volume of CBU models distributed by TMV in 2015 reached 6,154 cars, 21 per cent higher over 2014. Among these, Yaris led with 2,796 sold units, rising 43 per cent, followed by Hilux with 1.597 sold units.
Lexus introduces new generation
Lexus Viet Nam on January 12 introduced the new generation of Lexus RX 2016 to the line-up, including the RX350 and the new grade RX 200t, which features a direct-injection 2.0-liter turbo engine.
The new generation of Lexus RX presents outstanding changes in design, performance and leading technologies, together with Lexus premium services. The new Lexus RX 2016 will be officially available in two genuine Lexus dealers in Ha Noi and HCM City beginning this month. — VNS
