HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Truong Hai Automobile Joint Stock Company, or Thaco, this week opened a trailer and special-purpose vehicle plant at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone in the central province of Quang Nam.
Set up at a cost of nearly VND150 billion (US$6.9 million), the plant has a capacity of 5,000 units a year.
The modern factory's main plants will carry out trailer welding, painting and assembly.
Besides meeting the increasing domestic demand, it also targets export markets, the company said.
This year the plant will produce 1,200 tow trucks, 1,500 container truck bodies, and 300 concrete mixer truck bodies.
It is Thaco's fifth unit in Chu Lai. — VNS
