Mazda BT50 is most popular vehicle in VN

QUANG NAM (Biz Hub) — The Mazda BT50 pickup has grabbed 20 per cent of the segment in the Vietnamese market in the first four months of this year.

According to the latest report of the Viet Nam Automobile Manufacturing Association (VAMA), 475 units of the four-door double cab Mazda BT50, which has 3.2-litre and 2.2-litre diesel engines with 6-speed manual (MT) and automatic transmission (AT) models, were sold, out of a total 2,370 pickups being sold in Viet Nam.

According to VAMA, the Mazda BT50 has become the most popular vehicle in Viet Nam since its launch in 2012. The ownership registration tax on it is just 2 per cent.

The four-wheel drive is priced at VNĐ688 million, or US$32,700, for the 2.2L AT, while the 3.2L MT is priced at VNĐ810 million, or US$38,500.

The Truong Hai Automobile JSC (Thaco), which manufactures Mazda at its Quang Nam plant, has opened 18 Mazda showrooms nationwide. — VNS
