HA NOI (Biz Hub) – The Japanese car marque Honda City was introduced by an agent in HCM City last weekend and will be available on the Vietnamese market in June this year, according to VnEconomy online newspaper.
The car was first shown at Vietnam motor shows in 2011 and 2012, which Honda Vietnam sales manager Tomohiro Maruno said were to gauge the market.
The Honda City was reported to be successful in the Asia-Pacific markets thanks to its thrifty design and fuel savings.
Honda had sold more than 1 million Honda City cars since its first generation entered the market in 1996, the report said.
The brand won Middle Class Vehicle of the Year in China in 2009 and Car of the Year in Thailand in 2012. In Indonesia it won "Car of the Year" and "Best Fuel Saving Car" in 2012. -- VNS
