Ford VN appoints new boss

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Ford Vietnam has announced the appointment of its ASEAN chief of customer service, Jesus Metelo Arias, as the new general director of Ford Vietnam.

The Filipino replaces Laurent Charpentier, Arias will become chairman of the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association.

Ford Vietnam recently reported that it sold 685 cars in July, an increase of 46 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Customer demand for the new Ford Ranger continue to surge with sales of 116 vehicles.

Year-to-date sales have jumped 252 per cent to 791 vehicles, making it the company's best-seller this year.

The new version of Ford Everest sold 157 units in July, bringing the total to nearly 700 units for the first seven months of this year, an increase of 55 per cent over the same period last year.

Meanwhile, Ford Transit sales in July climbed 187 per cent. Year-to-date sales have increased 178 per cent from the same period last year to 930 vehicles. — VNS
