Ford Vietnam announced that third quarter sales rose 51 per cent quarter-on-quarter to 6,841 units, which took its year-to-month sales to 15,261.

This was driven by strong demand across its full line-up of vehicles, especially Ford Everest, Ranger, Explorer, and EcoSport.

Everest, the mid-size SUV, remained segment-leading with sales of 1,684 units, almost double the previous quarter’s number. It sold 3,532 units in the first three quarters.

Ranger sales rose 42 per cent to 3,637 units, and it was the only pick-up in the list of top 10 selling cars in Viet Nam.

The US-imported Explorer premium SUV is gaining momentum with year-to-month sales jumping to 855 vehicles, a 25 per cent increase year-on-year, including 381 during the third quarter.

The Transit continued to lead the commercial van and bus segment with sales rising 24 per cent to 272 vehicles during the quarter and in the year-to-date to 773.

The seven-seater MPV Tourneo, equipped with the fuel-efficient EcoBoost petrol engine and European design, has seen sales of 210 units this year.

The EcoSport compact SUV sales were 799 vehicles, pushing its year-to-month sales to 1,790 vehicles.

The new 2020 Ford EcoSport has been launched with upgrades in technology and design, and is expected to fortify its position in the segment it pioneered.

The new car is being delivered to customers. The prices of its three versions, 1.5 AT Trend and Titanium and 1.0L AT Titanium, are VND603 million (US$26,400), VND646 million ($27,800) and VND686 million ($29.600). — VNS
