Air bag problems have forced Ford Viet Nam to recall 119 Ford Ranger and Ford Everest cars made in Viet Nam.

The company said it wants to check or replace the airbags. Of the vehicles up for recall, 113 are Ford Ranger Wildtrak 3.2 pickup trucks, the bestsellers in the Vietnamese market, produced between October 29, 2016 and January 27, 2017.

The remaining cars under a cloud are Ford Everest 2.2L AT 2WD models, manufactured between December 10, 2016 and January 12, 2017.

The recall follows the failure of the airbag activation devices, which can stop the equipment from inflating when a collision occurs.

Repair time will take just two hours per vehicle. The Viet Nam Register has recommended clients of Ford Viet Nam take their cars for the safety check. — VNS
