HCM CITY (VNS) — Nearly 780 FUSO trucks were sold in Viet Nam last year, a year-on-year increase of 2.2 per cent, according to Mercedes-Benz Viet Nam.

The company, which launched its trucks in October last year in Viet Nam, has also announced that it has successfully produced canter and fighter trucks.

Earlier this week, its parent company Daimler Trucks announced that it would sell nearly 500,000 trucks in 2014, an increase of 3 per cent over the previous year.

In 11 months, about 445,300 were sold. With this figure, Daimler Trucks said it was near its target set for 2015.

In 2014, the company saw strong growth in North America and Japan. In North America, they sold 147,200 units, up by 19 per cent year-on-year. Meanwhile, the growth in Japan was 16 per cent with 14,400 units. — VNS
