HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — Online fashion site ZALORA opened its first showroom last Saturday in HCM City to give consumers a physical shopping experience on the occasion of the website's third anniversary in Viet Nam.

Customers at the digital interactive shop will be able to view products, try them on and make payment though the delivery method will remain unchanged.

Located at Bitexco Tower in District 1, the showroom is meant to improve brand recognition in the market and ZALORA expects 20 per cent of customers coming in to be new.

The 250sq.m showroom showcases fashion products for both men and women, including exclusive international brands found only on ZALORA such as River Island and Dorothy Perkins and its own brands like ZALORA Label, Inner Circle and Koumi Koumi.

Nguyen Phuong Anh, executive director of ZALORA Vietnam, said while e-commerce was admittedly set to boom in Viet Nam, especially in HCM City, many consumers did not know how to shop online and wanted to touch the fabric and try before buying.

The showroom will have a system of 15 computers for self-checkout.

Once customers find an item they like, they do not have to carry cumbersome bags home. Instead, they can take their purchases to one of the self-checkout counters, scan them and make payment.

The items will be delivered home in one to three days.—VNS
