The military-run telecom provider Viettel announced on Thursday that it had received two more exclusive patents in the US for its two new inventions which were developed by a group of young engineers.
As of the end of August this year, Viettel had a total of 339 domestic patent applications and 49 others in the US. Of which, it had received 44 patents in Viet Nam and seven others in the US.
Each year, the number of Viettel’s exclusive patents increases by 142 per cent, up nearly 8 times from the average rise of 18 per cent by domestic firms. Viettel is taking the lead in carrying out the country’s intellectual property strategy till 2030 with the goal of increasing the number of patent applications and patents by 16-18 per cent annually on average. — VNS
