HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Authority of Radio Frequency's international cooperation has helped Viet Nam become the ASEAN region's leader for radio frequencies.

This was stated by Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Le Nam Thang at a meeting on Thursday in Ha Noi.

He said the authority had performed well in developing frequencies in the border areas, with collaboration from other entities, as well as in supporting neighbouring countries such as Laos and Cambodia. The deputy minister also appreciated its implementation of online licenses to reduce administrative procedures for enterprises.

In 2013, the authority registered a frequency of orbit for Vietnam Natural Resources, Environment and Disaster-monitoring Satellite-1A (VNREDSAT-1), which was launched successfully on May 7. It also registered the Viet Nam-made micro satellite Pico Dragon with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). — VNS
