HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Winning "Start-up of the year" award, TicketBox, an application on selling event tickets online, will go to the Philippines for the Rice Bowl Start-up Awards on a regional scale this September.
The awards ceremony of the Rice Bowl Start-up Awards (RBSA) took place in Ha Noi on August 13.
This is the first time RBSA, an award for start-up in the ASEAN region, will be in Viet Nam.
The Rice Bowl Startup Awards, organised by the New Entrepreneurs Foundation, enters its second year with a more outstanding spotlight with Global Startup Awards (GSA), aims to increase the region's visibility as a vibrant global hub for innovation and celebrate the startup ecosystem instrumental in driving that progress.
TicketBox was built with the purpose of helping people buy event tickets in a simple way by not having to queue up at ticket booths, Mike Tran, TicketBox CEO, said.
TicketBox has served more than 6,000 events and become partners of about 700 event companies in Viet Nam after two years and is expected to expand to others ASEAN countries including Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia.
Other winners include Hung Tran from GotIt! With the "Founder of the year" award, Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc from DealstreetAsia with "Start-up journalist of the year" and Udocotor with" Social enterprise of the year". — VNS
