HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) gave away the Sao Khue awards to 46 software products and 24 information technology (IT) services on April 27.
Since 2013, the Sao Khue awards have been given to products and services in the IT sector. Speaking at the award ceremony, Nguyen Minh Hong, deputy minister of Information and Communications, encouraged enterprises to work hard and make technological innovations to create competitive products.
The sales management system for hand-held devices, eMobiz, developed by the FPT Software Company, was ranked the highest among 70 products receiving the Sao Khue awards this year. This solution is used for delivery and sales activities by multinational firms such as Unilever and PepsiCo in nine Southeast Asian countries. FPT earned VND80 billion, or US$3.8 million, from selling the software in 2013.
VINASA chairman Truong Gia Binh said that in the past few years, the Sao Khue program has tried to orient domestic firms towards developing products and IT services in the financial and banking fields, and then in health, education, society and culture areas. "From this year, VINASA will orient them to develop technologies that are trending in the world, including cloud computing, big data and mobility," he said. — VNS
