E-wallet and online payment gateway NganLuong.vn has announced its co-operation with 15 banks, including Vietcombank, VietinBank, Agribank, BIDV, SHB, ABBank, SCB and TVB, to support payments through scanned QR codes.
Customers can easily use the service through the mobile app of their bank to make payment transactions without entering card information or bank account details. Transactions are conducted in seconds by means of a QR code scan, saving time and effort.
To make such payments, customers need only have a smartphone with a camera to scan the QR code, log in to the bank’s mobile banking app and follow some simple steps.
The QR code payment service has become quite popular in Viet Nam, where more than half the population have smartphones. The country has 41.8 million 3G and 4G subscribers.
Traditional online payment channels, such as bank cards, internet banking and e-wallets, together with the QR code payment services, have helped NganLuong.vn offer a more convenient, faster and more secure payment channel and encourage customers to use non-cash payment methods.
NganLuong.vn expects the QR code payment service to help enterprises reduce operational costs and raise their revenues by 15-20 per cent.
The payment gateway was developed by Nexttech Group, formerly known as PeaceSoft Group in 2009.
Ngan Luong was named among the Top 10 outstanding payment solutions in Viet Nam by Forbes magazine, with a total of 15 million transactions, total transaction value of up to US$200 million and 1.3 million users. — VNS
