The company has met all of the high technology regulations set out by MOST, to become a market leader in Viet Nam's fledgling smart card sector. The company's average revenues over its first three years made up 60 per cent of the industry's total revenue each year, while this stretched to 70 per cent in its fourth year.

At least five per cent of workers possess graduate degrees, while the company also applies eco-friendly and energy-saving solutions in production and product quality management.

Nguyen Trong Khang, chairman of MK Group management board, said the recognition had contributed to strengthening the company's premier position in Viet Nam's smart card industry. He added that the firm invested in production infrastructure and high-quality human resources to provide top services at competitive prices.

Khang said the company also offered security solutions such as MOC (match-on-card) embedded fingerprint solutions and OTP (one-time password) authentication.

"These factors help MK Smart be consistently selected as a partner in Viet Nam by foreign companies wanting to enter the Vietnamese market," Khang said.

MK Smart is now the only smart card producer in Viet Nam, accounting for 70 per cent of ATM, debit and credit cards for local banks and bringing security services to Europe and Japan.

The company also provides SIM cards for top network providers in Viet Nam and other countries such as Laos, Mozambique and Haiti. It was the first and so far only Vietnamese firm to produce SIM cards for telecom enterprises and smart cards for banks in accordance with international standards. — VNS
