HA NOI (Biz Hub) — U.S. technology giant Microsoft Corp. signed an enterprise agreement with Big C in HCM City on February 6 to deploy cloud solution "Office 365" in Big C's supermarket chains.
The cloud solution is expected to enhance the quality of customer service by optimising operation costs and boosting system capacity, while ensuring safety and security at the same time.
Starting in Viet Nam in 1998, the Big C supermarket chain currently has 30 commercial centres and supermarkets in 20 cities and provinces in the country.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, James Scott, general director of Big C Vietnam, said using the advanced information technology application for its management activities is one of the strategic solutions being used by the company for ensuring sustainable development.
He added that customer demand is greater now, especially in the retail sector, and Big C is always trying to meet that demand through diversified goods at the best price and quality.
Vu Minh Tri, general director of Microsoft Vietnam, expressed his belief that the cooperation between the two enterprises will play an important role in raising the effectiveness of cloud services in Big C's operations.
At the ceremony, Microsoft and Big C also committed to working closely with each other for exploiting and applying information technology successfully in the business operations of Big C Vietnam. — VNS
