THAI NGUYEN (Biz Hub) — The Ministry of Education and Training and Microsoft Vietnam awarded prizes to 19 Vietnamese educators for using information technology to improve teaching.
The competition, launched from May, is part of the Microsoft Partner in Learning programme being implemented in Viet Nam for nearly 10 years. It aims to honour new ideas and teaching methods that integrate information technology to introduce interesting and effective lessons for students.
Speaking at the award ceremony in the northern province of Thai Nguyen on October 3, Deputy Minister Nguyen Vinh Hien said that the competition helped teachers show their products and share their experiences on IT application for others nationwide. "It also encourages teachers to apply information technology in teaching methods, testing and assessment of education," he said.
Microsoft Vietnam's Bui Dinh Truong said the company believed that outstanding educators seeking new approaches through IT integration are the core people in the development of students and the progress of the education system. "I believe that the innovations of teachers honoured today will continue to be developed and can boost the success and renovation of the Vietnamese education system," he added.
The Vietnamese awardees will be invited to take part in the global Microsoft Expert Educator competition held for participation in regional and international forums. — VNS
