HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The information technology industry topped 10 sectors that saw the highest hiring demand in the first half of this year, recruitment site VietnamWorks revealed in a recent report.
It was followed by Administrative/Clerical, Accounting, Production, Customer Service, as well as Advertising/Promotion/PR, Marketing, Construction, Architecture/Interior Design, and Sales.
The hiring demand recorded a 34 per cent growth rate during the period, the highest in the past three years; it was five per cent in 2013 and 25 per cent in 2014.
The high recruitment demand in 2015 does not mean that candidates can easily find jobs in all sectors. Sixty-six per cent jobs require experienced (non-manager) candidates, 16 per cent are for managers, and 12 per cent for team leaders/supervisors. The demand for directors and new grad/entry level/internships was only three per cent each.
Accounting has the highest competitive rate, as a candidate has to surpass 85 others to get a job. Administrative/clerical and import/export jobs are left behind at a rate of 1/70 and 1/65, respectively.
Southern cities consisting of HCM City, Da Nang, Bien Hoa, Can Tho, and Binh Duong have the highest competitive rates. A candidate must outshine 59 job seekers to get a job in Bien Hoa, 54 to get a job in HCM City and Can Tho, 52 to be employed in Da Nang, and 42 to be recruited in Binh Duong.
Gaku Echizenya, CEO of VietnamWorks, said that industries that saw the highest hiring demand recorded significant growth in the first half of 2015, resulting in the highest number of job creation in the past three years. He said that employment seekers currently have many choices to pick from for their dream jobs. — VNS
