The Israeli embassy has introduced new technology in Ha Noi aiming to improve the quality of the city’s agricultural sector.
The new technology, known as “vertical rice field”, was developed by the Israel-based Vertical Field that pioneers in designing and building modular, lush green vertical gardens and fields.
The technology was introduced at the “Exposition of Futuristic Agro and Water Israeli Technologies and Cultural Performance” on Saturday night.
The event served as part of a series of activities that will be held to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the establishment of Viet Nam-Israel diplomatic relations.
The activities would promote the friendship and partnership between the two nations in general and between the capital of Ha Noi and Israel in particular, the embassy said in a statement.
Featuring at the ceremony, a vertical rice field covering 100 square metres combined the deployment of soil-based technology for water conservation and plant nutrition.
Also exposed on Saturday night was a cutting-edge and patented Israeli technology developed by Watergen that provides a low-cost, abundant and renewable source of fresh and clean drinking water by extracting it directly from the atmosphere.
The machine could produce around 700 litres of water per day and could serve Hanoians and visitors to the city, according to Israeli Ambassador Nadav Eshcar.
The event also featured some cultural exchange activities, including dancing and music.
“We celebrate our great friendship with the Vietnamese People by displaying unique and cutting edge technologies in the centre of Ha Noi, as they represent the ties between our two nations most of all: It is all about innovation, creativity and vision; co-operation in education, advanced technology, agriculture and science,” said Eshcar.
“I strongly believe that there is enormous potential to our relations with Viet Nam. Together – there is nothing we cannot accomplish,” he said.
Diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Israel had “steadily developed, especially over the last decade” and “are more flourishing and thriving more than ever,” he added. — VNS
