HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — IBM Viet Nam this year will continue to follow advanced-technology trends of cloud, data and engagement in order to bring better services to their customers.
Company experts said that data was the new foundation that creates competitiveness, and that the cloud was the path leading to a new business model.
Luu Danh Anh Vu, country manager for Cloud of IBM Viet Nam, quoted research, saying that 2.5 billion gigabytes of data were created every day and that 880 billion pictures were taken in 2014.
"By 2016, one of four of applications in the world will be run on the cloud. About 80 per cent of new software being developed is for the cloud," he added.
On average, each person checks his or her mobile phone 110 times per day, he said. As many as 84 per cent of smartphone users check their phone right after waking up.
Seeing this changing trend, IBM in general as well as IBM Viet Nam have re-structured and invested more in data, cloud and engagement, he said.
"We change to catch up with the new trend," he added.
Thus, the company has created services that support insight systems, record systems, and engagement systems, which help customers improve their competiveness and create new innovations.
He cited the example of his company investing in Watson and Bluemix, and improving infrastructure by creating 40 cloud centres.
IBM Viet Nam also said that this year it would target enterprise customers such as banks and telecommunication companies.
In addition, they will further develop partnerships with cities and provinces nationwide. — VNS
