HCM City ICT Awards honour best products

HCM CITY (Biz Hub) — HCM City's sixth annual ICT awards were given away on Saturday at the Quang Trung Software Park.

They were given in six categories, with 17 out of 46 organisations and one individual that sent nominations winning them.

In the category of outstanding software solutions and products, Tinh Van, FAST, MISA, and Tri Tue companies took home five awards.

The most popular hardware category was expanded this year to include chips and smart cards. The Viet Nam National University's Integrated Circuit Design Research and Education Centre (ICDREC), which participated for the first time, won for its container supervision system chipset.

The Gioi Thong Minh, Dinh vi Sai Gon, and Vietronics Tan Binh were the others to win for their hardware.

In the best value-added service providers category, the focus was on e-commerce, digital content, over-the-top (OTT), digital signature, and cloud computing. The awards were won by Viet Nam Datacommunications Company, Sao Bac Dau, and NAHI.

Viettravel, Liksin, and Petroleum Trading won awards for outstanding IT applications; HPT company and Dr Tran Ha Nam were honoured for their contributions to the city's IT development.

For the first time the awards also honoured best IT students.

The awards, instituted by the city People's Committee in 2008, call for self-nomination by companies and individuals for their outstanding products and innovations.— VNS
