HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The United States-based search giant Google Inc has launched the Doodle 4 Google competition for Vietnamese students aged between seven and 15.
The competitors need to submit a doodle that shows their creative interpretation of the Google logo, while incorporating the contest's theme of "Draw Your Dreams," between November 28, 2014 and January 26, 2015. More information about the competition can be found at http://www.google.com.vn/doodle4google/
The competition's organising board will give away bikes and certificates to 18 persons as consolation awards and their entries will be saved in the Google Doodle online library. The winning entry is expected to be displayed on the Google Vietnam homepage on March 6, 2015.
This is the first time that the contest is being held in Viet Nam after being organised in 25 countries. The contest calls upon Vietnamese children to show their creative skills with unique doodles, and encourages them to follow their dreams.
Doodles are special Google logos, used to celebrate holidays, anniversaries and the lives of famous artists, pioneers and scientists. It first appeared on the Google homepage in 1998 to indicate the attendance of Google founders Larry and Sergey at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert. Currently, there are more than 2,000 Google Doodles made for its homepages around the world. — VNS
