HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The unveiling of FPT Corporation's Smartoshin robot with a cloud computing platform drew the attention of participants at the Gartner Outsourcing & Strategic Partnerships Summit held from September 23-25 in Florida.
The robot, produced by France's Aldebaran Robotics, has a height of 58cm and weighs 4.3kg. A face recognition sensor in its eyes detect people's faces in just one second and recognises their behaviour.
Smartoshin used F-Voices applications developed by the FPT technology team to talk with viewers in English and perform dance moves.
FPT said that it was the first software company to attend the event, aiming at providing executive and IT leaders with valuable insights and best practices in software outsourcing to Viet Nam.

The corporation also introduced Viet Nam as "an emerging destination with advantages in cost, quality, scale, expertise and productivity".
Following a discussion on software outsourcing in Viet Nam, FPT also introduced services based on new technologies, including cloud computing, mobility and big data.
Truong Gia Binh, chairman of FPT's management board, said: "The participation of FPT at this event will give large corporations from around the world a greater understanding of the wide-ranging ability and experience of Vietnamese software companies in general and FPT in particular. It will also enhance the position of the Vietnamese IT sector in the global business community."
The summit attracted nearly 700 leaders from well-known corporations such as Bank of America, Boeing, FedEx, Nike and Toyota. — VNS
