HA NOI (Biz Hub) — FPT Corp. announced on April 7, the appointment of Uwe Schlager as Director of its Mergers and Acquisitions division, and Hoang Viet Ha as its chief operating officer, effective from April 1.
Schlager, Director of FPT Germany, had made important contributions to the acquisition of RWE IT Slovakia, a subsidiary of Slovak energy corporation RWE. This was the first M&A deal of the enterprise in the international market.
During the next few years, FPT will target finishing one or two M&A deals each year, with its priorities being the acquisition of IT companies in community infrastructure, telecommunications and banking.
Ha, born in 1974, holds a PhD in Business Management from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Australia. Before joining FPT, he worked as chief operating officer at Bao Viet Corp and was Vice Chairman of HiPT Group JSC's board of directors.
FPT also announced the dismissal of Chu Thanh Ha from the position of Deputy General Director. She will concentrate on managing FPT Telecom JSC, where she works as Chairwoman of the Board of Directors.
Ha is the only chairwoman of the board of directors during 27 years of the corporation's development and was appointed to the position on March 25, 2011.
Joining FPT in 1995, she is one of the four founders of the FPT Telecom Company. Under her management, the firm had gained the second place in the market of internet broadband, according to ICT White Book 2014.
The telecom infrastructure of the company covers 59 out of 63 cities and provinces of Viet Nam, and it is expanding its business operations in the Southeast Asia. FPT Telecom is the most profitable company of the corporation. — VNS
