HA NOI — E-Learning and E-Entertainment Service Development JSC (NET2E) officially launched in Ha Noi the mobile application Hoc de, Viet Nam's first online tutoring app on March 16.

The app, which connects tutors, parents and students, lends support to students at all levels and grades, particularly in six main subjects: Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Literature and Biology.

The app is expected to help students save time and money compared with hiring full-time tutors. People can easily download the app from http://hocde.vn, Google Play or the Apple Store. Uploaded questions are typically answered within 10 minutes.

Speaking at the launch, Kim Soung Joo, Net2e's general director, said a scientific roadmap had been used in developing the app and finding investors for it to bring a complete suite of online tutoring products to Vietnamese students.

The app can be used even on cheap smartphones with WiFi or 3G access, Phạm Đinh Phi, the company's deputy general director, said.

Phi added that the app has connected more than 50,000 users with over 1,000 online tutors within only six months. The app has been updated with a question bank and exams in the six subjects.

He said the app was scheduled to connect more than 1 million people with 10,000 tutors nationwide by the end of this year, making it a popular product for students and parents.

The company, a member of Việt Nam Post and Telecommunication Group, is also building an English-language version of the app as its first step in penetrating the world market. — VNS
