HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Traders recorded sale of VND170 billion (US$7.5 million), with more than 130,000 orders during the fall Online Shopping Day 2016, Vietnam E-Commerce and Information Technology Agency (VEITA) announced on Saturday.
The online shopping day attracted the participation of 300 e-commerce businesses nationwide, including several big firms such as Mobile World JSC, Nguyen Kim, Vien Thong A and Lazada, as well as Sendo, FPT Shop, VietjetAir and Jetstar, along with Mediamart, Sài Gin Co.op, Adayroi and Vingroup's commercial centres. Some 80,000 products were offered for sale and five million people accessed the website on the day.
Five shipping companies in the e-commerce sector -- VnPost, Viettel Post, Giaohangnhanh, Netco and Proship -- also reduced the shipping costs for businesses by half for the day.
Customers can report violations of businesses during the day to the organising board, such as incorrect information on product, quality and promotion prices. The board will handle consumers' feedback via Real-Time (information updating and warning system).
Businesses can be told to remove their products from the website if the level of complaints is over 80 per cent.
Electronics, household appliances, fashion and tourism services were the best selling products of the day. — VNS
