DA NANG (Biz Hub) – The central city's Information and Communications (IC) department in co-operation with Sai Gon Post and Telecommunication (SPT) company has developed a digital marketing service, the S-wifi, for public wireless users.
Department Director Pham Kim Son told Bizhub that the broadband digital marketing service could cater to 1 million users in the city.
The S-wifi, developed on the World Bank-funded Information Technology infrastructure system in Da Nang city, allows 40,000 connections on the wireless public marketing service.
The digital wireless system was developed in HCM City and Can Tho.
The city debuted free public WiFi in 2013, which allows a maximum of 20,000 connections at a time.
This service has been made available to local people and tourists at major centres and streets in the city, including living quarters, schools, beaches and tourism sites. Hospitals, shopping malls, bus and railway stations and airports were covered by the service as well.
