More than 200 business executives and technology leaders attended a forum titled ‘Transform Tomorrow, Today’ in HCM City on Tuesday.

Organised by German enterprise application software provider SAP, it sought to provide Vietnamese businesses insights into how the latest cloud technologies and solutions can help them accelerate digital transform to become sustainable and intelligent enterprises.

Nguyen Hong Viet, managing director of SAP Vietnam, said the concept of ‘intelligent, sustainable enterprise’ is a new way of doing business.

‘Cloud’, ‘sustainability’ and ‘future-proof innovation’ are three important keys for businesses to consider embedding in their strategies and operational guidelines to help them recover from the interruption, operate during times of uncertainty in the market, improve cost savings, and pivot and scale quickly to adapt to changes, he said.

“Adopting the right cloud-based technologies represents a major opportunity for them to build differentiation and resiliency.”

International Data Corporation expected Viet Nam to surpass the rest of Southeast Asia in cloud adoption considering its compounded annual growth rate of 32 per cent between 2018 to 2023, saying the country is entering the golden age of digital transformation and a cloud-only strategy would be key to surviving and thriving in this fast-evolving digital economy.

Verena Siow, president and managing director of SAP Southeast Asia, hailed Viet Nam as being the first country in Southeast Asia to have a National Digital Transformation Day, saying it means its government acknowledged the importance of digital transformation to enterprises, society, economic growth, and governance.

She said small and-medium-sized companies in Viet Nam realised the power of technology to help them accelerate their development, and so SAP would share its experiences, technology and expertise to help them grow quickly and sustainably. — VNS
