HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Shares continued to rise on the HCM Stock Exchange this morning, led by the blue chips, but fell unexpectedly on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange.
A 2.4 per cent rise in the stock of dairy giant Vinamilk (VNM), one of the biggest stocks on the southern bourse, lifted the VN-Index by 0.81 per cent to close the morning at 589.77 points.
More than half of the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity gained, pushing the VN30 up by 0.71 per cent to finish at 631.64 points.
Liquidity remained good with more than 74 million shares, worth nearly VND1.23 trillion, or US$58.3 million, being traded.
The real estate stocks continued to be the most active stocks. The Tan Tao Investment Industry Corp (ITA) led the trading, with over 9 million shares changing hands at VND12,200 per share.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.41 per cent to end at 79.33 points.
The market volume reached over 39 million shares, worth VND403 billion or $19 million, by the end of the morning.
The PetroVietnam Construction Corp (PVX) was the most active share with nearly 5 million shares being traded. It fell by 2.2 per cent to finish at VND4,400 per share.
