HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Apple Inc has encouraged its customers to exchange their Apple 5W European USB power adapter that may overheat and pose a safety risk.

They are advised to bring them to an Apple Retail Store or a participating Apple Authorised Service Provider. FPT is the official distributor of Apple products, so iPhone users in Viet Nam have been asked to take their phones with the affected adapters to FPT stores.

According to the US company, the adapter came with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models shipped from October 2009 to September 2012 in 37 European and Asian countries, including Viet Nam. It was also sold as a standalone accessory.

Details on how to identify the adapter and the exchange process can be found at: http://www.apple.com/uk/support/usbadapter-european/ — VNS
