Amazon Web Services, Inc (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, Inc, has introduced new innovations with Amazon Bedrock, offering customers a secure platform to develop advanced generative artificial intelligence (AI) applications and experiences.
Tens of thousands of customers have chosen Amazon Bedrock as the foundation for their generative AI strategy, providing access to a wide range of top foundation models (FMs) from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, Cohere, Meta, Mistral AI, Stability AI, and Amazon, along with the necessary capabilities and enterprise-level security for building and deploying generative AI applications quickly, the company said.
The latest updates enable customers to run their own fully managed models on Amazon Bedrock, simplify the process of selecting the best model for their specific use case, enhance the application of safeguards to generative AI applications, and offer an even wider selection of models. Organisations from various industries, including fast-growing startups, security-conscious enterprises, and government institutions, are using Amazon Bedrock to drive innovation, boost productivity, and enhance end-user experiences.
Swami Sivasubramanian, vice president of AI and Data at AWS, emphasised the rapid growth of Amazon Bedrock, with numerous organisations of all sizes and industries opting for it as the cornerstone of their generative AI strategy due to its ability to streamline the transition from experimentation to production.
“Customers are excited by Amazon Bedrock because it offers enterprise-grade security and privacy, a wide choice of leading foundation models, and the easiest way to build generative AI applications. With today’s announcements, we continue to innovate rapidly for our customers by doubling down on our commitment to provide them with the most comprehensive set of capabilities and choice of industry-leading models, further democratizing generative AI innovation at scale,” he said.
Key features of the new updates include the custom model Import capability, which allows organisations to deploy their customised models on Amazon Bedrock to reduce operational complexity and accelerate application development. The Model Evaluation tool helps customers assess, compare, and choose the best model for their specific application.
Notable organisations leveraging Amazon Bedrock's capabilities include the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), using FMs and advanced AI generative capabilities to process regulations efficiently, and Ryanair, Europe's largest airline, utilizing Amazon Bedrock for instant information retrieval and manual summarization to enhance passenger services.
