Giant property developer Novaland has been named in the list of top 100 sustainable companies by the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Vietnam Business Council for Sustainable Development.
The company said it is in 11th place.
The award, launched in 2016, has become one of the most prestigious in the county in terms of honouring efforts by companies to achieve sustainability.
To be named in the list, companies should meet standards set in the Corporate Sustainability Index, the first of its kind in country to benchmark sustainable development.
It lists over 100 criteria based on international standards and in accordance with Vietnamese law.
Novaland has formed a sustainable development strategy based on business operations, human resource development and environmental management.
It is one of the few companies to establish a sustainable development council with experienced experts as members.
This is the first year the company published its own report on sustainable development based on standards in the Global Reporting Initiative. — VNS
