HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnam Airlines (VNA), on August 5, announced a reciprocal codeshare agreement with India's Jet Airways, offering Indian passengers connectivity to HCM City and Ha Noi from Singapore and Bangkok.
Under the agreement, Jet Airways will co-operate with VNA on flights from Bangkok and Singapore to HCM City and Ha Noi. In turn, VNA will co-operate with Jet Airways to serve flights between Bangkok-Mumbai-Delhi, Singapore and Mumbai, and Delhi and Chennai.
The codeshare flight from August 4th 2014, will provide more choice for guests between India and Viet Nam, with convenient connections over the international gateways of Singapore and Bangkok.
According to Gaurang Shetty, Senior Vice President – Commercial, Jet Airways, the partnership between Jet Airways and VNA illustrates his group's strategic positioning to continuously strengthen connectivity between India and the rest of the world by developing its network.
"We are delighted to announce a codeshare partnership with Vietnam Airlines as it will further strengthen the global network of both airlines and provide increased benefits to all our guests. With the seamless connections offered by this arrangement, we are confident that this codeshare will see a further increase in business and tourist travel between India and Viet Nam," said Gaurang Shetty.
Vice President of Vietnam Airlines Duong Tri Thanh said the two airlines would make all possible effort to maximize the opportunities offered to the combined network in order to bring the most convenience to their valued customers who travel from India to Viet Nam via Bangkok and Singapore.
To create better connectivity between the two countries for their common customers, Vietnam Airlines reported that it would also put its code on Jet Airways services to Viet Nam from November 5th 2014. — VNS
