The recently concluded Vietnam Manufacturing Expo in Ha Noi received more than 11,000 professional visitors who came to source new technologies and explore business opportunities.

VME showcased latest machinery and technologies for manufacturing and the supporting industries made by 200 brands from 20 technologically leading countries including Japan, Korea, mainland China, Taiwan, Thailand, and the US, and also saw the participation of many leading companies in Viet Nam.

According to Reed Tradex, its organiser, over the three show days, Viet Nam’s international exhibition for machinery and technology for manufacturing and supporting industries attracted a record number of 11,013 visitors, an increase of over 30 per cent from last year.

Akio Takashima, general director of Sinfonia Microtec (Vietnam) Co Ltd one of the visitors at the show, said: “This is the second time I have come to the exhibition. Our company produces and sells electromagnetic clutches. I come here to look for suppliers whose components are used in manufacturing.”

Another visitor, Tran Trong Hai, a service engineer at Japan Automatic Machine (Thailand) Co Ltd said: “This is the first time I have visited the show. My company specializes in automatic wire cutting machines… I hope to find partners for my companies.”

“By coming to the annual exhibition, we hope to find more partners, distributors and agents to develop the Hitachi brand. I see the machinery and equipment market in Viet Nam still has a lot of potential for development, but it will be towards technology 4.0. Thus, it should be integrated to suit the market.”

Huynh Phong Phu, director of robotics and automation at ABB Vietnam Co Ltd, said his company has a metal welding product line, the robot ABB 1520ID, combining a rotating rack to weld electric motorbikes and mechanical appliances.

“At the show this year I hope we can promote products to customers and bring ABB’s images to visitors so they will know which products to invest in.”

The annual expo was held concurrently with the eighth Vietnam-Japan Supporting Industries Exhibition from August 14 to 16 at the Ha Noi International Exhibition Centre.
