Vietnam Airlines and HCM City’s Department of Tourism on Monday received the 7 millionth international visitor to HCM City this year at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
Ngo Thi Thu Hien, deputy director of Vietnam Airlines in the southern region, said Vietnam Airlines had co-ordinated with the municipal People’s Committee to organise tourism promotions this year, including the HCM City Tourism Day 2018 themed Exploring Summer, the International Travel Exhibition 2018 and other programmes to promote tourism in the city.
“We hope in the coming years, HCM City will continue to grow in the field of tourism, worthy of being the leading destination for international visitors to Viet Nam,” said Hien.
In the January-November period, it’s estimated to have received 6.8 million passengers, up 19.67 per cent compared with the same period last year.
Vietnam Airlines currently operates 23 direct international routes to HCM City with the Skytrax international standard four-star service, many of which are served by new-generation aircraft such as the Boeing B787, Airbus A350 and A321neo. — VNS
