The first flight on the Nha Trang - Seoul route departs from Cam Ranh Airport in the southern province of Khanh Hoa.

National carrier Vietnam Airlines early this week opened a new route between Nha Trang and Seoul with two flights, numbered VN440 and VN441.

The flights will connect Cam Ranh Airport in the southern province of Khanh Hoa and Incheon Airport in Seoul.

Luu Anh Tuan, head of the representative branch of Vietnam Airlines in South Korea, said Vietnam Airlines started flights to South Korea in 1993 between Seoul and HCM City. After more than 20 years, together with the rapid development of bilateral ties, Vietnam Airlines has continued to expand its network in the South Korean market to meet the increasing demand of people from the two sides.

Nha Trang is the fourth city in Viet Nam to have a direct Vietnam Airlines flight to Seoul, after Ha Noi, HCM City and Da Nang, bringing the total number of flights to 53.

The Nha Trang-Seoul route will have four Airbus A321 flights per week, providing four-star international service. The flights will depart from Cam Ranh Airport at 9.35pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday and will return from Incheon Airport at 6.20am every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. The travel time will be some five hours.
