Viet Nam enjoys nearly 35% increase in exports to Canada

HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Vietnamese exports to Canada expanded in 2014 by 34.55 per cent on the year to US$2.08 billion, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Information Centre.

Garments grew 25.9 per cent yearly to hit $492.51 million, accounting for 23 per cent of the total value. Meanwhile, the country racked up $263.25 million from aquatic products, up 45.8 per cent compared to last year.

Two-way trade has experienced sustainable growth in the past few years and is expected to hit about $3 billion in 2015, with the trade balance favouring the Southeast Asian nation. — VNS
