HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Nineteen economic contracts were signed at the 14th Viet Nam-China Border Trade Fair, worth a total of US$440 million, according to Lao Cai Province Department of Industry and Trade.

This year's contracts are worth nearly double that of last year's contracts.

The five-day trade fair, which began on November 8, is being held at the Hekou-ASEAN International Trade Centre in China's Yunnan Province. It has about 1,200 kiosks of companies from Viet Nam, China and other countries in the region.

The products on display at the fair include agricultural products, raw materials, automobiles and electronic equipment, as well as garment, textiles and footwear.

An official from the Department of Commerce of Yunnan said that the two countries should hasten general planning for specialised zones such as logistics, processing and financial zones.— VNS
