HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Anti-dumping duties will be levied on imports from Viet Nam and several other countries after the United States International Trade Committee (USITC) issued its final decision.

The USITC affirmed that the import of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) has been causing significant losses to the US domestic steel industry.

According to the Vietnam Competition Authority, anti-dumping duty of 24.22 per cent will be levied on the SeAH VINA Steel Company. The highest duty of 111.47 per cent will be levied on the Hot Rolling Pipe Company because it refused to answer the US Department of Commerce's questions. The final duty rate was based on available evidence and conclusions that were disadvantageous to the firm.

Imports from other countries and territories such as India, South Korea, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Ukraine and Taiwan will also face anti-dumping duties.

The USITC will upload a report to publicise its members' opinions and information about the investigation after September 15, 2014 on http://pubapps.usitc.gov/applications/publogs/qry_publication_loglist.asp. — VNS
