The Turkish Ministry of Trade has announced it is conducting a final review on potential anti-dumping duties on textured polyester yarn imported from a number of countries, including Viet Nam.
According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Viet Nam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Vietnamese exporters of products with HS codes 5508, 5509 (except codes 5509.52 , 5509.61, 5509.91), 5510 (except code 5510.20) and 5511 should prepare relevant documents and co-operate to provide adequate information to the Turkish Ministry of Commerce in the final review in order to ensure positive results.
Questionnaires and reports on the issue were published by the Turkish Ministry of Commerce at www.ticaret.gov.tr/ithalat/ticaret-politikasi-savunma-araclari/damping-ve-subvansiyon/sorusturmalar/nggs-teblig-no-2019-2.
Turkey had previously probed imports of synthetic yarns and artificial staple fibres from Viet Nam, Malaysia, Greece, Pakistan and Thailand, finally deciding to impose anti-dumping tariffs of 19.48-25.25 per cent on Vietnamese products for five years starting from August 2014.
The ongoing review is carried out in accordance with World Trade Organisation regulations. Five years after the initial anti-dumping duty was imposed, the Turkish investigating authority is considering whether to renew the duties. — VNS
