THUA THIEN-HUE — The central province of Thua Thien-Hue is seeking to attract more investment to its industrial zones (IZs) by helping investors build factories and by mobilising capital for infrastructure construction.

In addition, the province is focusing on vocational training as the demand for trained workers increases.

Local industrial zones currently need 15,000 skilled workers each year – a figure that will likely grow as the zones expand.

The province has attracted 66 foreign investment projects with a total registered capital of nearly US$2 billion, covering a wide variety of fields such as garments and textiles, tourism, and food and beverage processing.

In the first quarter of the year, FDI projects' turnover in the province reached $110 million, an annual increase of 48 per cent. — VNS
