HA NOI (Biz Hub) — Hong Kong's TAL Group will invest in constructing a garment factory in the northern province of Vinh Phuc, reported Dau Tu (Investment) newspaper.
The group recently received the investment licence for its US$50-million project. The factory's products will be exported.
The factory, to be built on 8ha of land and proposed to be operational by September 2015, will produce 12 million shirts per year and create stable jobs for 3,500 workers.
The TAL Group has been operational in Viet Nam since 2004, beginning with the $40-million Viet My textile and garment factory in the northern Thai Binh Province's Phuc Khanh Industrial Park.
TAL has exported up to 90 per cent of its products to the United States, for brand names such as Brooks Brothers and Banana Republic. — VNS
