HA NOI (Biz Hub) — The Ministry of Finance allowed distributors to increase stabilisation fund usage for the country's popular gasoline RON 92 and mazut from 8pm on June 12.
The base price of RON 92 reached VND25,341 (US$1.2) per litre.
The fund for RON 92 would be raised from VND200 ($0.9 cents) per litre to VND420 per litre ($2 cents), while it would be increased to VND410 ($1.9 cents) per kilogram from VND160 ($0.76 cent) per kilogram for mazut.
The adjustment was made following an official document of the ministry on June 12 which revealed that the base price for gasoline RON 92 has overcome the selling price VND441 ($2.1 cents) per litre. The selling price for mazut was also VND412 ($1.96) lower per litre than its base price.
On the contrary, diesel 0.05S and kerosene gained profits of VND144 ($0.68 cent) per litre and VND103 ($0.49 cent) per litre, respectively. Therefore, the ministry decided to stop using the stabilisation fund for diesel 0.05S and kerosene. The ministry also asked distributors to lower the selling prices for the two products so that they were not higher than the base prices of diesel 0.05S and kerosene, which were VND22,536 ($1.073) per litre and VND22,377 ($1.06) per litre.
