VINH PHUC (Biz Hub) – Korean company Sekonix Vina on December 10 began the construction of a factory at the Ba Thien 2 Industrial Zone in the northern province of Vinh Phuc.
The 9000sq.m factory, which will produce lenses and motors for mobile phones, will be in a 35000sq.m complex that comprises workshops, dormitories and ancillary units.
The factory is designed to produce 500,000 lenses per month and create jobs for about 1,000 workers.
With all its products meant for export, the factory is expected to help increase the country's export value to US$30 million per year.
The 300ha Ba Thien 2 IZ is an environment-friendly IZ and home to light industries such as electronics and high-tech units.
So far, four investors from Japan and South Korea have invested more than $40 million in paint production, ancillary industries and electronic appliances. – VNS
